Collagen is the body's basic building block, and is comprised of amino acids that are used to make up structural proteins like the skin, hair, nails, ligaments and tendons. Collagen is obtained from animal sources, including fish, but Vollagen is suitable for vegans and vegetarians as it is 100% plant-origin from corn starch (non-GMO). Using a proprietary, multistep fermentation and microencapsulation process, the complex of amino acids is provided in the same proportion as those found within human collagen. The same 18 amino acids in Vollagen are ready for the body to easily absorb as they are already isolated thus giving another key advantage.
